ASLive offers a convenient course schedule (Monday to Thursday; 8am to 11am) for anyone so they can enroll in a class that best suits their schedule; they will choose a session from the list of available classes. All classes will meet twice per week, either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, and upon enrolling, the students will be registered for both days. This is a 16-week study program for the Fall and Spring. We offer 32 hours of authentic hands-on learning with live instructors via video conferencing each semester.
Additional classes for advanced ASL levels will be added each semester. It will take at least two years to complete all four levels: ASL I, II, III and IV.
In order to participate in the documentation program, a student must be at least fourteen years of age or enrolled in ninth grade.
Any friend or relative of the student is welcome to observe the conferencing sessions! Observers must not interrupt the student during the conferencing session and are not allowed to participate in the class. Only the student will receive credit.
*Should a class be cancelled due to lack of enrollment, the student will need to transfer to another available scheduled class.
*ASLive plans to expand to unlimited enrollment in the near future.
ASLive is currently seeking accreditation. We can provide documentation of your having completed a course. You are responsible for making arrangements with any recognized accredited educational institution about whether it will accept completion of ASLive courses as secondary level credit.
Some colleges and universities provide Proficiency Language Assessment (PLA) for the students who wish to earn college credits by taking a test.
ASLive provides letter grades based on test scores and fulfilled assignments. Full documentation of participation and progress will be provided upon achievement of the program. Additional transcript requests will cost $10.00 each.

There are many signing books but ASLive uses one of the best, Vista Signing Naturally Series, for its homeschool students. It has been the most popular and widely used sign language curriculum for teaching American Sign Language for over twenty years. Almost every major university and college sign language program has adopted it as its official curriculum. With the DVD, students will learn how sign is used in context, while the workbook guides learners through the video and includes an answer key for convenience. *Purchasing a textbook with a DVD is recommended. You may be able to purchase used copies online.
